Designed for business, the ProDesk 600 G3 Small Form Factor Desktop Computer from HP is a highly expandable system that features flexible connectivity options, strong security, and comprehensive manageability. It is powered by a 3.9 GHz Intel Core i3-7100 Dual-Core processor that will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously.

The 8GB of 2400 MHz DDR4 RAM helps the computer to run multiple applications simultaneously, as well as access frequently-used files and programs. The current memory configuration is one 8GB module with an additional three slots available for memory upgrades, making for a total of four 288-pin DIMM slots. With all four slots in use, this system supports 64GB of RAM to keep up with the current demands of the latest software programs. Additionally, DDR4 utilizes less power than DDR3.

For long-term storage of your files, the ProDesk 600 G3 is equipped with a 500GB 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5″ hard drive. If you want to connect with external storage drives or other peripherals, the ProDesk 600 G3 features one USB 3.0 Type-C port, six USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and four USB 2.0 Type-A ports. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 chipset delivers a sharp, clear picture while allowing for a wide range of monitors to be used via its two DisplayPort and one VGA port outputs at resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 @ 60 Hz. Whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game, the Conexant CX20632 codec outputs high definition audio and delivers higher fidelity than standard audio controllers.

The ProDesk 600 G3 Small Form Factor Desktop Computer includes a HP USB Business Slim keyboard, an HP USB optical mouse, a power cord, and recovery media that is located both on the system’s internal storage and on HP’s OS download site. It operates using a 180W power supply and the installed operating system is Windows 10 Pro (64-bit).

General Features

Slim SuperMulti DVD Burner

A Slim SuperMulti DVD Burner is included for reading and writing to a variety of CD and DVD media, including CD-R, DVD±R, DVD±RW, and more.

Gigabit Ethernet

The system uses an integrated Intel I219LM Gigabit Ethernet controller for Internet access when connected to a router, modem, or network switch.

USB Charging

On the front of the chassis, the USB 3.0 Type-C port and one of the USB 2.0 Type-A ports double as charging ports. The USB 2.0 Type-A port will continue to charge devices even when the system is turned off.

Audio Output

The front of the chassis has a 3.5mm universal audio jack with CTIA headset support, while the rear has a 3.5mm audio-in jack and an audio-out jack for powered audio devices. Headset connectors can be configured to function as a line-in, microphone-in, line-out, or headphone-out port. Rear audio input ports can be set as a line-in or microphone-in port.

Drive Bays

For users who wish to add additional internal drives to the computer, there is one bay that can natively support 3.5″ drives or 2.5″ drives with the use of an adapter, as well as one M.2 2280 PCIe x4 slot for an SSD.

Wireless NIC

A wireless NIC can be installed in the one M.2 2230 PCIe x1 slot.

PCIe Expansion

You can add peripherals such as an optional dedicated graphics card using the two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots (one wired as x4).

Power Supply

The 180W Bronze power supply is up to 85% efficient with Active PFC.

Windows 10 Professional

Start Menu

After its hiatus in Windows 8, the Start Menu has returned. Utilizing a combination of the traditional menu system and Windows 8’s Live Tiles, the improved Start Menu gives you more information at a glance, showing notification information alongside your applications and other pinned items.

Cortana

Microsoft’s digital personal assistant, Cortana can answer your questions with information gleaned from both your device and the internet at large. You can type or even talk with her, if your system has a microphone. Using her Notebook, Cortana keeps track of your needs and wants, and she learns over time to improve her information gathering skills.

Microsoft Edge

After nearly 20 years, Microsoft has finally replaced its Internet Explorer web browser. With Microsoft Edge, users can write directly on web pages and share notes with friends and colleagues. It also improves the online reading experience by adding a distraction-free mode and read-it-later functionality. Edge also has built-in Cortana integration; you can have her help you find a restaurant, make a reservation, and pull up directions without leaving your browser.

Windows Store

For Windows 10, Microsoft has unified the Windows Store. Now, apps for PCs, tablets, and phones will all be accessible from one place. And with support for Universal Apps, one version of an app can work across all your compatible devices automatically.

Windows Continuum

Windows 10 was designed for a variety of screen sizes and input styles, and with its Continuum feature, it automatically adapts to fit your needs. A Windows 10 tablet on its own requires a touch-centric approach, but attaching a mouse and keyboard will shift everything to a more traditional interface. You can even attach an external monitor to your Windows 10 phone for a near-desktop experience. But it’s not just the operating system; Windows Universal Apps take advantage of Continuum as well.

Xbox on Windows 10

Gaming is a big focus of Windows 10. Devices will also be able to join domains and the Azure Active Directory, and they can even access a specialized version of the Windows Store featuring custom, company-specific applications.
