Designed for performance on the go, this laptop features a 1.8 GHz Intel Core i7-10610U quad-core CPU and 16GB of soldered RAM. A 512GB M.2 SSD provides storage space, but users can also attach external drives and other wired accessories via two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. Two USB 3.2 Gen 2 USB Type-C ports are present, supporting power delivery and DisplayPort connectivity. Can’t stand wires? Connect wireless peripherals via Bluetooth 5.0, or hop online using Wi-Fi 6. Users can also connect over a traditional Gigabit Ethernet connection using a Lenovo adapter, available separately.

Featuring a 14″ 2560 x 1440 IPS display, the Carbon X1 Gen 8 can extend or mirror content to two additional displays. In addition to Dolby Atmos and four speakers, including two woofers and two tweeters, this laptop also incorporates four far-field microphones. A 720p HD webcam is also present, and comes equipped with a ThinkShutter to block the lens when not in use. Other security features include power-on and user drive disk passwords, as well as a fingerprint reader, lock slot, and TPM chip. Users can also take advantage of Intel vPro features for additional hardware security, as well as out-of-band manageability and stability. Tested to MIL-STD-810G specifications, this laptop is also designed to stand up to extreme temperatures as well as drops and spills. Lasting up to 19.5 hours on a single charge, the battery can recharge up to 80% in just an hour. The Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon X1 Gen 8 runs on the Windows 10 Pro Operating System.

A discrete Trusted Platform Module encrypts data and works in conjunction with Windows 10 security to maintain system integrity, while the webcam is protected by a ThinkShutter, which allows you to physically block the lens of the camera when not in use. Users can also take advantage of biometric security via the touch-style fingerprint reader to log in with just their fingertip. And, with Intel vPro, the Lenovo Carbon X1 8th Gen adds an additional level of hardware security, in tandem with remote manageability and stability features.
